Calling all Reporters

If you are a reporter and don't have a blog, you better start one. And while you're at it, hit Twitter as well.

I am a journalist and old-fashioned in that I still like the New York Times. It is my login page. Assuming I am like most people, busy and want quick news, I usually only glance at the front page, reading headlines, occasionally clicking to read a paragraph or two. I also look at the market and the "Most Read" stories. (NYT, you're welcome for the free market research on users.) Anyways, I couldn't help notice this week that most of the NYT stories that I clicked on -- all front page -- cited social media sites as sources high-up in the stories. I had 2 reactions: 1) Is the NYT becoming a news aggregator in the same way that the Huffington Post is? 2) Boy, many bloggers are getting their day in the sun. Often with blogs that don't look especially well-read
